Term 2 Project

Term 2 Project

In SESE (History, Geography, Science) so far this term we have covered a number of topics.

·         The Solar System.

·         Signs of Spring.

·         Animals that hibernate.

·         Weather.

·         Windmills.

·         The National Costume of Different countries(We looked at Belarus, Nigeria and Peru- However they may pick any country.)

I would like each child to pick a project based on one of the above topics. As they have already done a project in first class I am going to let them decide how they would like to present it (They can use their scrap book, an a3 page like last time or make something linked to their theme etc)

Your child has until March 16th to complete the mini-project. We will then begin to present them in class. I have gone through this in class but please can you remind them of the following:

Clear title

Accurate content (Doesn’t have to be too long. I would prefer a short piece that the children really know rather than loads of information that they are unsure of.)

Originality i.e. not copied word for word from book or internet.

Presentation (Can be handwritten or typed)

Pictures (can be printed, drawn or cut from magazine/newspaper etc)

Correct spelling and grammar (capital letters and full stops)

The children really enjoyed the projects we did in October and enjoyed seeing how their peers approached and presented their projects. I was delighted with how enthusiastic each child was about the last project so I hope they enjoy this as much.

Thanks for your help.

Enjoy,

Denise.

Maths- Doubles

In Maths this week we are focusing on addition and learning about doubles. This is when you add two numbers that are the same together.

0+0=0
1+1=2
2+2=4
3+3=6
4+4=8
5+5=10
6+6=12
7+7=14
8+8=16
9+9=18
10+10=20

Here are some games to help us remember these.

Friendship Week

This week is Friendship week.

Here is an acrostic poem we wrote to help us remember to be a good friend.

Fun times.
Respect each other.
Is always there for you.
Everyone needs one.
Never makes you feel sad.
Don't give up on each other.
Sharing and caring.

We also began learning this song by Bruno Mars
