Reading-2nd class
Hello everyone,
Welcome back again.
I have started sending home graded readers for homework.
I will change these each Monday.
All the class put huge effort into their reading last year and some of the class will be able to read the books with ease. As well as reading the book all children should be able to;
- retell the story in their own words.
-identify main characters,setting, main events etc.
- answer a range of questions based on the text.
-explain the meaning of difficult words.
-put difficult words into sentences to show they understand meaning.
To supplement reading further the children are welcome to bring novels home from the school library. Books by authors such as Roald Dahl and Dick King Smith are very popular with the class. If you feel your child would benefit from doing this please encourage them to do so.
Thanks,
Denise.

International Day- June 10th 2015
We had a busy but fun day yesterday for International Day. We travelled to India, Brazil, Finland and Cuba and found out lots of interesting facts about the countries and even got to taste some food from there... Have a look at us as we travelled around yesterday.
